Deborah Corbett
Trivia Content Manager
Deborah has served as a consultant in content development for TriviaTown, Inc. since April 2005. She has the unique challenge of researching and producing content across a wide range of categories for the TriviaTown folks.
Deborah caught the trivia bug in 1997 after stumbling upon Internet trivia on IRC. She quickly became a member of many rooms and channels and in 2000 she started her own room on the IRC network researching, editing, and creating her own content.
Deborah began her working career as an executive secretary to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Ontario Metis and Non Status Indian Association (OMNSIA), now known as Ontario Metis Association (OMA). During this time the government was requiring an enumeration of the Metis and non-status native population in the province. She assisted in the creation and distribution of questionnaires and was part of the team that compiled, correlated, and recorded the data received. She was soon promoted to manager of the then non-existent education department where she again put her research skills to use overseeing the beginnings of this department; which included the writing and submission of proposals for funding, researching and acquiring funding for eligible students, developing an informational booklet that outlined native issues in the education system and where to seek assistance.
Her volunteer history started when she served as a member on a local committee to establish Ojibwa as a credited subject in our local high school system. Since that time she has served as chair, co-chair, recording secretary, and public relations officers on a number of committees and sub-committees in the community.
She took a break from her administrative duties and tried her hand at technical support for both the Internet and home computers, researching and assisting clients with problems for a couple of years.
Deborah has worked as an administrative assistant in home improvement; with Phoenix Rising Non-Profit Homes Inc. putting together a policy and procedures manual, researching funding opportunities, dealing with a special need clientele; and in Safety and Environment for the local public utilities.
Deborah has an Honours Diploma from Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology.
